Torsion and Extension Springs
Your garage door mechanism likely uses a torsion or extension spring system, and All Pro Door is an expert in both systems!
A torsion spring counterbalance system uses one or two tightly wound springs, while an extension spring counterbalance system uses a pair of stretched springs. When raising the door, the springs unwind or contract, and stored tension helps lift the door. As the door is lowered, the springs slowly rewind or extend to full tension, while helping to gently lower the door.
Springs have a minimum of 10,000 – 15,000 cycles which are estimated to last between 3 to 7 years. We also offer lifetime garage door springs.
